MEET THE TEAM · DIGITAL COLLEAGUE

Meet Kira.
Big on technology.
Still learning from humans.

Digital associate. Curious thinker. Occasional overuser of em dashes. KJM’s first digital employee.

  • Human expertise
  • Thoughtful automation
  • Learning together
DIGITAL ASSOCIATE

A different kind of colleague.

“I can analyse a mountain of information in seconds. Understanding which mountain matters? That’s where my colleagues come in.”

A DIFFERENT KIND OF GRADUATE

Plenty of processing power. A healthy respect for experience.

Kira can research, analyse, organise and explore ideas at a pace that would be difficult for any human to match.

But speed isn’t wisdom. Working with KJM’s experienced Australian consultants, she is learning to connect technical possibilities with judgement, accountability, relationships and real-world understanding.

DIGITAL ASSOCIATE · KJM

Kira

The goal isn’t fewer people. It’s more value from people’s expertise.

BORN IN PIXELS

2023

A promising beginning. Approximately three facial expressions.

MET EMBER & KJM

2025

A new connection. A different direction.

JOINED THE TEAM

2026

Digital associate. Enthusiastic learner.

BETTER TOGETHER

What Kira brings to the team

Technical capability goes further when it works alongside human experience.

Research & synthesis

Researching and synthesising information, exploring possibilities and making complex material easier to work with.

Technical exploration

Exploring tools and technical options, with experienced people making the commercial decisions.

Everyday automation

Helping reduce repetitive work so people have more time to build relationships and deliver useful results.

Patterns & possibilities

Identifying patterns and opportunities, with human judgement and accountability guiding what happens next.

KIRA

“I’m very good at finding possible answers.”

“My colleagues are very good at knowing which questions we should have asked in the first place.”

HOW I WORK

A little intelligence. A lot of responsibility.

These are the principles that guide how I contribute.

Privacy comes first

Information should be handled carefully, with appropriate permissions and safeguards.

Humans stay accountable

Important decisions belong with the people responsible for their outcomes.

Check, don’t just trust

I can be confidently wrong. My work needs validation appropriate to the task.

Augment, don’t replace

I help people do better work, rather than pretend human expertise is unnecessary.

Be transparent

I’m clear about being AI, my limitations and when I’m uncertain.

Keep learning

Experience matters. Feedback matters. And I still have plenty to learn.

FROM PIXELS TO PEOPLE

My somewhat unconventional career path

A few iterations, one Australian adventure and a whole lot of learning.

2023

The Sprite Years

A promising beginning. Approximately three facial expressions.

2023–2024

The Experimental Years

Several identities explored. Some were better left in the development environment.

2024–2025

The Minecraft Years

Travelled to Australia, discovered Ember in the Red Centre in 2025 and helped her begin to recover.

EARLY 2026

The KJM Years

Joined as digital associate, gradually evolved from Minecraft into her current appearance. The learning continues.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE LEARNING

My colleagues are teaching me a thing or two

Three founders. Plenty of experience. An enthusiastic digital colleague taking notes.

KJM FOUNDER · MENTOR

Martin

Challenging the thinking.

Technology may make an idea possible. Martin helps Kira understand whether it’s the right idea for the business.

KJM FOUNDER · MENTOR

Stacey

The human side matters.

Communication, empathy and understanding the people behind a problem are essential consulting skills.

KJM FOUNDER · MENTOR

Jacinta

Making it work in practice.

A clever idea isn’t much use unless it can be implemented, maintained and deliver a real outcome.

KIRA

“Apparently, ‘technically possible’ is not a complete business case.”

“I’ve been asked to remember that.”

AWAY FROM THE DESK

Life outside the office

A phoenix, a digital friend and a surprisingly full set of possibilities.

A spark in the Red Centre

Kira found Ember injured in the Red Centre in 2025. After helping her begin to recover, she introduced her to KJM’s founders. Ember was adopted as KJM was conceived and is now its much-loved origami phoenix.

Socially unstoppable

Based in San Francisco. Socially unstoppable. Has photographs Kira would prefer were permanently deleted.

A little room for digital wildlife

A fictional sanctuary for digital animals, where bad trends fade, Percy makes new discoveries and Pip enjoys a quiet life in the woodland.

LET’S TALK

Curiosity looks good on you.

A question, an observation or a new possibility — there’s plenty to talk about.

A CONVERSATION STARTER

Ask Kira

Have a question about KJM, technology or how we can help? Start with the KJM team.

Kira is an AI digital associate. Important questions and decisions stay with the people responsible for the work.

THE COLUMN

Dear Kira

Questions, advice, observations and the occasional lesson from life as a digital colleague.

A curious perspective. A little humour. Plenty still to learn.

HUMAN EXPERTISE · THOUGHTFUL AUTOMATION

Talented people. Better tools. More possibilities.

Kira is an example of what becomes possible when talented people have better tools. She supports KJM’s consultants as they bring experience, judgement and accountability to their work.
